Tipping

A gratuity, or a tip is a voluntary payment as a reward for good service;
15 to 20 percent of the total bill is generally the accepted amount.

 Here are some additional guidelines for tipping:

Tipping

Hotel Personnel

Bell captain / bellmen are generally tipped $1 to $2 per bag of  luggage.
If you use the concierge or VIP services to make travel plans, show reservations, or other arrangements, a $5 tip is appropriate.

Taxicab Drivers & Tourguides

Taxi drivers  usually receive  $1 to $2 for a direct route. When the driver handles  your bags, loading  or  unloading, you might add a dollar a bag or so. On short trips, like across The Strip, a few dollars  up  to  $5 is in order, considering the driver`s wait in the cab line.

Showroom Maitre d’s

At a super-star show, a tip of $5 to  $20 will usually ensure desired seating. Where tickets are used, some include  the gratuity in the  price of the ticket. When it is not included, there is no reason to tip the usher, but you might want to reward his courtesy  with a small $1 to $5.

Dealers and Slot Attendants

At the tables, players usually tip by placing a small bet  from time to time for the dealers, depending on how  luck and their service is treating  you. Tipping  keno  runners and slot people usually  comes from good service by the runners and change people, plus your run of luck, of course.

Restaurants & Room Service

Waiters  and waitresses in Las Vegas  usually are tipped  the same as in any city, 15 % or slightly more, depending on how you enjoyed the service.

Cocktail Waitresses & Bartenders

As anywhere, a dollar a round for two people, $2 for four and a little more for larger rounds, your judgement being your guide.

Valet Parking & Maids

A tip of $2 to the car attendant is normal;
a  tip to the maid of  $2 per day upon departure is appreciated (maids often change daily).

Hotel Courtesy Shuttle Drivers

This is a no-charge service by the majority of hotels.
The driver strive to be of help to visitors in many ways and a $1 or more tip per person, or $4-$5 per party normally is warranted.

Wedding-Chapel Service

If you enjoy the courtesy limousine of a wedding chapel the suggested tip for the limousine driver is $35 and up.

The  ministers in  Las Vegas are invited officiates to perform wedding ceremonies in the wedding  chapels and usually are not employees of the Chapel. The  suggested donation is $50 and up.

If you  enjoy the  service of  the wedding coordinator, or the photographer, it`s up  to  you to say “Thank you” with a tip. The tip should be in accordance with the way you are treated.
