McCarran International  Airport greets visitors to Las Vegas with state-of-the-art facili- ties and is located about one mile from the Strip.

At McCarran International  Airport you can  work out at 24-hour fitness,  get a massage or visit  the Howard  W. Cannon Aviation Museum.  McCarran is the first airport to offer CAPS, an airline  check-in  and baggage  service from several major Las Vegas resorts.  For $ 6 per person, you can check in your flight at select  hotels  2-12 hours in advance of your departure,   receive a  boarding  pass  and have your luggage  transported to the appropriate airline.

Once in Las  Vegas, you’ll find traveling around to be safe, speedy and simple by using transportation such as the authentic “Las Vegas Strip Trolley”  and an armada of taxis, limousines, rental cars, tour buses and the public bus system.

If you like  walking on public sidewalks from one end of the strip to the other, don’t forget your walking shoes. Walking is by far the most popular mode of transportation.
Pedestrian walkways make crossing the busy Strip and surrounding streets a cinch or take an inexpensive alternative the Las Vegas Strip Trolley.

The Las Vegas Strip Trolley goes up and down the Strip from 9.30 a.m.- 2.00 a.m. daily. It stops at all major Strip locations from Stratosphere at the north end to Mandalay Bay at the south end, making a loop.

Downtown Trolley  departs every  15-20 minutes from the South Plaza of the Downtown Transportation Center.

Exact fare of $1.50 is required. Ride as far as you desire for $1.50

Buses  run down the  Strip to Vacation Village. There are also shuttles running to all the major shopping and outlet malls. Buses leave from downtown every 10 minutes. The fare is $ 2.00 each way.
Bus service hours: 5.30 a.m. - 1.30 a.m. 7 days a week. 24-hour service between the Strip and Downtown.

Taxi Cabs

Taxi service is available at the airport, the convention center and all  major hotel/casinos in Las Vegas. 14 Taxi Cab Companies operating in the area. Cab fares are regulated and the companies all charge the same rates.

Motorcycles and Mopeds

For those who prefer quick and easy transportation, motorcycles are ideal for a trip to national recreation areas.

 Monorails

Several Las Vegas casino-resorts have built air-conditioned trams to ferry visitors from place to place free of charge.

Shuttles

Most major hotels run shuttles from the airport to their site. Reservations may be required and a per passenger  fee assessed. Some hotels  also  offer shuttles to other casinos, shop- ping areas and sightseeing destinations.
Shuttle  service is also provided by outside transportation companies. Average costs begin at $ 4 per person .
